How we handle your data.
Plain English, no dark patterns, and only what we actually need to reply to you and do the work you've hired us for.
Who we are
Hullpatch Technologies is a small software studio based in Ontario, Canada, operating under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you have any questions about this policy or the data we hold on you, write to us at hello@hullpatch.com.
What we collect
Only what you actively give us through the forms on this site.
Contact form (on the home page)
- Your name and email address, so we can reply.
- What you'd like help with and your message, so we know what you're asking about.
Quote form (at /quote)
- Your business details: business name, what you do, any existing website.
- Your project details: pages, features, style preferences.
- Your contact details: name, email, and optionally phone.
We do not use tracking cookies. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
The tools we use to run this website
A short honest list of the third parties involved in serving this site and receiving your submissions, and what each one sees.
Cloudflare (hosting and network)
Cloudflare serves the pages you're reading and protects the site from abuse. As part of that, Cloudflare processes your visit and can see your IP address and general request information. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare's privacy-first analytics to understand which pages people read. It is cookieless, does not build a profile of you across sites, and does not collect personal information. No consent banner is required.
FormSubmit (form processing)
The two forms on this site post to FormSubmit, which converts your submission into an email and sends it to our inbox. FormSubmit sees the contents of your submission in the process of forwarding it.
Zoho Mail (our email)
Our inbox hello@hullpatch.com runs on Zoho Mail, hosted in Zoho's Canadian data centre. Your emails to us, and the notifications from the forms, are stored there for us to read and reply to.
How long we keep it
- If you become a client: for the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable period after (typically 7 years, in line with standard Canadian business record-keeping).
- If we don't work together: we periodically clear out unsuccessful enquiries. If you'd like your details removed sooner, just ask.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information (subject to legal record-keeping obligations).
Email hello@hullpatch.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time frame, usually a few business days.
If you're visiting from the EU or UK, the same rights apply to you under the GDPR / UK GDPR, and we treat your data on the same terms as everyone else's. Contact us at the same address.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where sensible, note the change. For anything more significant, we'll let existing clients know directly.
